| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident Those were my picks and they took each other out. Funny. Maybe we should start a contest for that. Boy, being a Smoke fan, I'm a little biased but it's hard to tell, it looks like maybe Tony got loose, but Matt was loose too. Then it looked like they got hooked together. It's their spotter's faults. Good job, Smoke, for going into the hauler and cooling off.

| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident Heck I picked #48 to win and #20 for second..if that wreck had not happened, there was a good chance of it happening Now, reagrding the wreck itself..............please note wording in red are my interjections............ But just two laps into the final segment, Stewart and Matt Kenseth crashed in between turns one and two while racing for third. With a run on Kenseth going through the tri-oval,where the GRASS IS Stewart put the fender of his Home Depot Chevrolet to the inside of Kenseth's quarterpanel.Stewart held his line through the corner while Kenseth pinched him low. The two made contact and crashed into the turn two wall. Both cars limped back to the garage area, too damaged to continue. Kenseth was credited with 11th "At the finish line I could see that Tony was getting a run and I was gonna try to stay on the bottom," said Kenseth. "I came across the second part of the tri-oval, I thought on the grass, uh, grass at the tri oval is way before turns 1 an 2 and right before we got to the corner (my spotter) told me he was looking inside. And as soon as he said that I moved up, but we made contact and I got turned around, so I don't know. Maybe he was a way in there and I squeezed him off. I didn't think he could have got in there that good to have that good of a run, but he must have. "If he was under there and I cut him off and made a mistake, then I made a mistake. There's nothing else I can do about it right now." spoken like a man that takes responsibility for his actions..dont ya' think? "I had a pretty definitive view from what I saw," said Stewart. "I got a run on him like he said. I got to see the replay, and you could see where they start the camera view that he's a whole lane-and-a-half low. and in front of you You know, you don't go in the corner that way.says who? So, obviously he's blocking there.maybe...but when his spotter said Tony was looking to the inside he moved up.... But it's the Nextel All-Star crashfest. I think he screwed up on this one. If he thinks I did that and that was my fault, he's screwed up in the head."did Matt say that?? . . Ya' know Tony is never to blame for nothing in his head... when he makes the claim "that's not the way your supposed to drive" that just make me feel like he has to justify his actions....like in Daytona..."he took the air off my door..waaah". Tony obviously has a copy of the "Do's and Don'ts Driving Handbook" he is quoting from. . By the way...since you all know I am a #17 fan.....and my bias may be questioned.....the above quoted text (in black) was taken from http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/5625636 |

| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident Quote:
"Kenseth, speaking just before Stewart, said that Stewart must have driven through the grass to get to his left rear quarter-panel to trigger the crash." Then they go on to quote Matt, basically admitting guilt..... Later, Kenseth said that it was possible he came down into Stewart. "Maybe he was way in there and I squeezed him off, I don't really know," he said. "I didn't think he could get in there that well to have that good a run, but he must have." Here is the entire article...... http://www.nascar.com/2006/news/head...ash/index.html |

| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident My guess is that when h__l freezes over they may become civil to one another. I couldn't see the grass that Matt was talking about but it did look like Tony went up the track. Tire issue maybe ??? I'm sure we'll hear more next weekend.

Yes, I give Tony credit for going directly to the hauler too....he looked very angry. I think the wreck was unfortunate cause they both were running very well, maybe enough to take 1st. Heck, Tony's car was runing better after his initial damage from "the big one"..think he might have gained some aero advantage with that repositioned rear. And lastly, my reason for using the article to post was that I didn't want to misrepresent anything. Like grass being part of the reason for the accident...... |

| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident Kenseth got hit because he didn't pull over and let Tony pass. Stewart has got some issues for sure, and then to call out Robbie Reiser (who wasn't even driving the 17) tells you alot about what kind of guy he is. Good thing someone was there to hold Tony back, he'd have gotten a serious beating from Reiser. |

| Re: Kenseth/Stewart Accident The guy is a professional driver and he doesn't know if he had a flat tire ?? The team should have been able to look at the tires and see if it was at least a possible cause. Stay tuned for more on this during the coming weekend. |
