Can't Keep A Good Man Down!

You read it here first folks:

Carl Edwards wins the 2008 Sprint Cup Championship!

This is coming from a Juan Montoya and Dale Junior fan! (And if it ain't obvious to y'all, NOW a Carl Edwards fan too!)

It's not what he does when he wins, it's what he does when he doesn't win!

In the Phoenix race on 4/12/08, Edwards ended up getting penalized for a pit lane infraction late in the race, got one LAP down, went to the end of the longest line and STILL came back for a 4th place finish! Now, tell me that's not talent!

He's won three races in 2008... will only get 20 bonus points because of infractions, he was first in points, went to 17th and now has made it back into the top-12 and so on...

A champion carries himself a certain way - there's just something about a champ that makes him different - when you ask me to define a champion, I think "Joe Montana" "Tom Brady" "Jeff Gordon" "Jimmie Johnson" "Tony Stewart" and I'm comfortable putting "Carl Edwards" into that group...

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that Robbie Riser is his stand-in crew chief (you remember him: the guy who took Matt Kenseth to his championsiip!) Other than Edwards wins and Ragan getting consistent finishes, RFR doesn't seem to be having a lot of luck this year. Let's see how he does when everything returns to "normal"...
