| Sharing notes? I think not! It seems we always hear from HMS how they are all so great about sharing notes and using each other's set ups. Well, seems to me it's a bunch of crap. Looks like Chad's been forgetting to pass a few things along to the 24 team. But really, why should he? JJ gives up his long weekend to test because he been stinkin' up the track lately. JG, also not as strong as he'd like to be, doesn't put in the extra hours. He stinks at Texas, as usual. Personally, I think JG's downfall is going to be the same as Jr.'s - their crew chiefs. Eury and Letarte are the weak links. At least there's hope for Mears because he has Gustofsen (no idea how to spell that.) So do you guys really think that the 48 team is sharing all it's info with the 24 team? If they are, why was Gordon just in everybody's way today? Should they be sharing every little tidbit if they're not? Personally, I'd be hard pressed to go out and do all that extra testing and then hand all my info over to the guy who is one of my greatest competitor's. HMS's #1 driver is quickly becoming the #3 driver. When will they stop the bleeding?

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! After JG parked his car, the announcers discussed the very issue, and mentioned that although the drivers can share set-ups and other tid-bits, JJ’s racing style is different to JG’s, (one likes loose, the other tight) so although each others set-ups are an open book, they are not interchangeable. Mind you they didn’t say why Jr’s or CM’s set-up information wasn’t used or if they have a similar car preference. JG doesn’t have to many bad days, so, I’m thinking "mulligan" |

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! After 7 races he's had only 2 top 10's. 3 of the 7 were 33rd or worse. I would say JG has been having quite a few bad days this year or at least more than he's use to. |

Here are a couple of "quotes" from AP... __________________________________________ “We’ve tried every setup we can find, but none of them seem to work,” Gordon said. “I was just hanging on every single lap.” “We have had our moments when the car has been really good,” Gordon said. “But, you know what, when the car is off, I am lost here. I haven’t felt this lost since my rookie year at a race track.” |

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! Maybe since the COT is putting it mostly back in the hands of the driver, we're finding out which ones can adapt and which ones are struggling with it not being set up perfect for them. |

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! I really can't agree that it's be because JG is lacking skill. You simply cannot have the kind of record he has and just be lucky. You have to be good. This is certainly not the first time he has had a crappy car. Rarely does a less than perfect car keep him from running pretty well. I just thought this car looked exceptionally poor. What kind of surprised me was that he was the one to make the call to fix that car and go back on the track as a kind of test session, since the day was shot. You'd think Letarte would have made that call. I don't know, I just don't have that much faith in Letarte. A team with the funding and knowledge available to them that this team has shouldn't miss the mark by sooooo much. While I think JG still has the talent, I'm not so sure he's 100% committed. He should have been out there testing with JJ. It couldn't have hurt. |

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! Jeff Gordon has the ability to know when a car responds to setup changes. We'll never know what was wrong with his car yesterday. But, undoubtedly there was something amiss. The chassis and/or setup changed after the start of the race, telling me something "physically moved" to shift weight. I experienced a condition similar in the past and when we got the car in the garage we found the steering box bolts became loose allowing the setup to change lap after lap. That car was a hand full. Jeff Gordon had a serious problem on the track yesterday and he knew it. That's why he drove it to the garage. I don't think he and his team is experiencing a downward spiral. They must get their cars "right" before they take them to the track. I have confidence they'll get it together to make the chase by the end of the year. |

| Re: Sharing notes? I think not! That may be true for some drivers, but Jeff Gordon does not lack in driving skill at all. He is struggling, but I have no doubt that he will pick it back up and make the chase. Despite all of his troubles this year, he is 14th in the standings. |
