Best and Worst Paint Schemes

What in your mind are the best and worst paint schemes in NASCAR?

My favorite is the #88 National Guard Car driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Then this next car is so ugly I have trouble looking at it, it's the #99 Aflac car of Carl Edwards.

Bears, you hit the nail on the head. I like Dale Jr's National Guard paint scheme, even the Amp colors. And, I detest the Aflac No. 99.

This would be my choices too.

I can't believe they still don't have some type of sponsor.

They do. Identified also as "team owner"...

Sorry Bears. I just can`t agree with you on this one. I really like Dale Jr. Its not him, but I think is a butt ugly paint job. Its too busy! I just was hoping they would do a better job. They could have done so much more. I hope they improve it.

Re: Best and Worst Paint Schemes

just to clarify, we're talking about paint schemes, not drivers, owners or pit crew!

I'd have to nominate that red, yellow and blue #5 for the ugly award.

one that I like is a very simple and clean (at the start of each race, anyway) #2.

Re: Best and Worst Paint Schemes

I gotta admit, this is still my favorite 'scheme' to date:

And its the testing scheme. I like the plain white 28 too, its very clean.

The standard Jack Daniel's scheme IS my favorte 'real' scheme. Simple, elegant, striking. No vivid hues, but it still stands out. Another near and dear to my heart is the 2006 'Happy Birthday Jack' color scheme.

Other well designed schemes are the #2 (especially the gold version), the #8, and yes, the 24 just for sheer flashiness. I like the flames. I love the Cinnamon Nicorette scheme with the red flames. Pepsi's black & blue flames last year were pretty cool too.

I have to concur with the puke-tastic 99 Aflac car. That's HIDEOUS. Another one is the #48 with diamond plate. I like the diamond plate pattern useage on Kyle Busch's car... but its really bad on the 48. OH, another paint scheme, one that went from decent to horrible... Jeff Burton's #31. The orange car with the Cingular splat guy looked ok, the blue AT&T against that orange? Awful. Just awful.

Yep, that's the way to do a livery.

It seems like a lot of people either really like it or they think it's ugly, personally I really like it. That said and as much as I like Jr, my favorite is a toss up between the #07 and #12.

My Ugliest;
#99
&
#49

Also, I am looking forward to seeing Jr's retro Mountain Dew scheme in May.

Re: Best and Worst Paint Schemes

I think both of Jr.s cars are the ugliest along with the #49, Harvicks car is pretty ugly too. I like basic color schemes. I like Denny hamlins fed ex car especially when they use the blue letters and of course #42 havoline car.
My favorite "special scheme" car was the #9 mopar car that Kahne ran last year with the Barbwire. Looked like Gary Scelzies funny car... can't find a picture of the #9 mopar car.

Yeah, the #11's is probably in my top 5 favorties. I actually don't really like the #42's schemes, don't know why, just not my favorite.
