The problem I have here is how it's applied. The week Jeff Gordon finished 43rd he got more exposure than many teams that ran in the top 10 that week..... So if we're going based purely on performance where is the cutoff? It's not based on performance any which way you cut it. I guarantee a team that is outside the top 35 could have a top name sponsorship come on board and they sponsor the national TV spots or even sponsor a race and that car will got shown riding around in 39th place all day long in the race. Look how many times a day Waltrip's car gets exposure while finishing around 30th week in and week out...even carries an on board camera for every race. Yet a car that finishes week in and week out 10 spots in front of him the only mention he gets is when they announce the starting posistion at the beginning of the day. |

I do see what you're saying, and I don't have any good way to further argue my point. Some bad drivers get their time in the spotlight while others are ignored.

| Re: BAM Racing withdraws No. 49 Toyota entry for Texas ...and NA__AR is one more team closer to having the number of active teams they need for franchising. Good job, NASCAR. It's not the racing sanctioning body's place to subsidize small teams in order to keep them in play. But it isn't its place to make biased and arbitrary rules which make it harder for them to compete, either.
