Reports this morning say Chad McCumbee will replace Kyle Petty in the No. 45 Petty Enterprises Dodge this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Kyle finally saw the light.

Chad will test the No. 45 tomorrow at Kentucky Speedway.

I agree it's time he moved on, although who knows what's happening now with Bobby and GM's sponsorship leaving. I don't really think that much of Chad McCumbee, let alone him driving #45's inferior equipment, but if he is the future of PE then he needs to get some time behind the wheel.

Agreed, I think it's time for Petty to hang it up but I definitely don't think McCumbee is the guy to fix their problems either.

Right move or not it wont feel right to see someone other than Kyle in the 45 car.

I'll assume you mean Chad in this case. Not really much difference than Kyle not qualifying. We can sort of expect Chad to not do well but when Kyle fails the image presented is totally different.

Saw a blurb somewhere .. maybe at Jayski, maybe not .. PE said Texas is a good track for McCumbee 'cause he's done well in trucks there. Guess we'll get to see how well trucks translate to CON.
