Re: Seem's Petty is the talk today.

Petty seems to back off from saying the deal is a sure thing, though. Says he's been working on this for over a year?

A year is a long time to wait in NASCAR. Now with Kyle out of the top 35, seems like the organization is worth less money. I can't imagine things are looking great with any investor right now.

I think you're right Measure. Petty can't wait a whole year. At the present rate of decline at Petty Enterprises, the handwriting is on the wall. Richard just needs to turn arround and read it. Decide what needs to be done and make some changes, and make them quick before your value to the sport evaporates.

Re: Seem's Petty is the talk today.

That is Petty's problem always a follower never a leader. Makes me sick that they take soo long and almost too late to fix their organization. He better get this deal done fast before Bobby leaves. I think it is almost a certainty that Bobby will not return. His runs are not getting any better and he has had the contract from PE on the table for how long now? The more uncompetitive his cars get the more likey he will not return. There is a reason RCR put Bobby in an unsporsored NW car. I beleive his is building chemistry with his new team. Please give me another reason why RCR would pull money from their own pocket to put Bobby in a NW car.

Bobby wants to race NW.
PE has no NW presence.
Bobby and Richard are friends.

there's 3

(and then there's the possiblity that Bobby may be footing a lot of the bill, i.e., buying a ride.)

you might pose the same question about why Smoke is driving for Happy...

my, time does fly. you're right. 3 NW races this year all in JGR 'Yota's. 'Course that could be a 'Yota demand...

point being made is it's not unusual to find a Cup driver in another team's NW car or CTS truck. it usually doesn't mean anything more than a casual link up. might it lead to something else? maybe .. or not.

people now-a-days spend too much time trying to figure out "why's" and not enough time enjoying the "whats"!

Trust me there are alot of "whats" in Bobby racing that RCR NW ride. Plus most of the time Cup owners will not race the NW series unless they have a sponsor. How many times this year have we seen Cup drivers state they would like to race more NW races, but sponsorship problems have kept them from it.

People can read into it what they want. I know what I believe and read into the situation. It may not be right, but you have to admitt it really sets up all the past rumors.

Plus there is not that many "whats" to enjoy with Bobby right now.

Wow! The latest news from Yahoo Sports is that Petty Enterprises is in the final stages of negotiations with a group called Medallion Financial, based in New York City. They are reported to be working on a partnership.

I know people with money that want to invest in a venture also want some control. Whenever I talk to someone about investing in my biscuit business they always want an above average return on their investment (ROI). So what will Medallion bring to the table to assure improved performance at Petty Enterprises?
