Hi Zack, if they would just be consistent about it. That's my big beef. No points penalty for the #48 at Daytona. Didn't Jarrett get points docked? So both crew chiefs got suspended. And why dock points for swearing (Junior last year) on tv. But oh no, can't dock the 48 team, they cheated differently than everyone else did. Please.

This is another one of those subjects where there is absolutely no justice. Dale Jr. lost points when he said a caca word on TV. I realize that it was NASCAR who imposed the penalty but have you ever watched any other sporting events ?? When a pitcher gives up a winning home run he isn't saying shucks. The lips aren't that tough to read when certain words are spoken. Everyone is correct with the "Knausing" ordeal. No points lost. I'm not sure what the differences and similarites were between Knaus and Slugger. The Jarrett team is/was trying to shift the blame to the shock tech. It appears that ultimately the crew chief is responsible.

I have no problem with points deduction but this case by case business doesn't cut it for me. If they are going to impose points penalties then make the rules now, apply them to everyone and be on with the game of racing. If you as a team screw up then be prepared to pay the price. On some of the other discussions about this type of subject it has been told that the rules in the different series are all different. That should change. I'm not always for uniformity but this is all under the watchful (sometimes) eye of NASCAR and it would seem to me that uniformity in the rules would be a good thing.

I'm sure as this thread progresses I will have more to complain about. Now may I have one of those pills ???

i totally agree!!! and there is no point in penalizing them with a fine, as much money as they have it dosent faze them but taking points away, in which is what they race for with the hopes to win the championship, will make them think twice before doing or saying anything stupid.

I am a Johnson fan, but I have to agree on this. If they are going to dock one team points for breaking the rules, they need to treat all the teams equally. NASCAR needs to clearly define what the rules are and what the penalties are for breaking these rules and then apply them across the board regardless of starpower or any other reason. Meanwhile, am I the only one that seems to think the Johnson teamed performed better when Knauss wasn't there?
