Re: Well This Doesn't Seem Right....

My belief is that this entire issue is being gazed upon from a place that you cannot see anything. First off even the weakest of teams today has marketing people. The teams cannot survive without them. Sponsorship of a NASCAR team is similar to pouring sand down a rat hole. What real benefits are gained other than a tax write off ? Don't know about the rest of you but I've never heard of Furniture Row and trust me I'm not gonna drive many miles to buy a chair that I can get locally. Robbie Gordon's sponsor doesn't get me to run to the liquor store and JPM doesn't create any desire to purchase a particular motor oil or chew a specific gum. I buy what I want because I want it.

Since we have no idea what the contract between BAM and MicroSoft is all the claims being made are merely speculative. Face it ... MS doesn't need to advertise on the side of a race car. They don't even advertise on TV nationally. Just accept that they are "one of many sponsors" and they may be gone after one of a few races. I don't see advertising in NASCAR as beneficial to any company.

Well I don’t know about that. If it were of no benefit, there would be NO Nascar or any other form of big time motor sports out there.
Not to mention free televised races if not for the commercial sponsorship etc…
The only reason why Nascar’s teams are having trouble attracting sponsorship is because the sponsors (through their market studies) have determined that Nascar viewers are not their target audience.
It’s up to Nascar and the Teams to sell themselves.

Now you're jumping To conclusions. I didn't say no benefits. What I did say and will continue to stand by is that Sponsor dollars spent on decals for NASCAR race cars isn't beneficial. On a dollar for dollar basis they are not getting a fair shake for their money. I also noted that personally there is no advertising on any car that is going to make me run out with reckless abandonment and by their product. The biggest value that Furniture Row gets is a tax break for advertising dollars spent.

I do agree with that, now it's up to Nascar and it's teams to persuade advertisers to use them as a conduit for their promotional budget.

Well qualifying 7th aint too bad for an old man with a team that "is not one of the greatest threats in NASCAR."

As an avid Kenny Schrader fan this is year is qucklly turning from depressing to ultra exciting!

Kenny and Hyder have a great chemistry
Go Kenny

I agree. Now if he'll just do as good tomarrow as he did today, I'll be thinking they should have gone to Toyota sooner.
