GTG & NA__AR TV Coverage

The Lovely Mrs. Harvick has been brought up in our humble forum. It prompted a thought in my mind.

A season and a half ago it was brought to this forum's attention that Delana apparently thinks it is permissible and correct to wear a casual uni-sex sports cap (not to be confused with a formal or semi-formal ladies hat) during pre-race prayer, presenting colours and the singing of our National Anthem. It was the opinion of many here that this was a genuine faux pas and to some was a slap in our faces.

This was the subject of at least two dedicated thread and was brought up in a score of others.

Maybe I've missed it but it seems to me that the TV cameramen have been absent in showing Kevin and Delana, in her covered glory, since around the middle of last season. If they have shown her during the playing of the Anthem, I've missed it.

Could it be that someone connected with the TV coverage read our protests and made a decision to point the camera at the Biffle's, the Newman's, Jeffie, Ingrid and Baby Gordon, or someone showing the proper respect? Has GTG made a difference?

Wow!

I've seen them show her a few times and she wasn't wearing a cap. So maybe somebody got through to her.

But ya know, I did see someone complain the Ingrid was caught messing with Jeffs hair during the anthem! I can't remember who it was, or even if it was here!

Yeah, I caught that one, too. However, after not seeing Mrs. Harvick with a covered head, nor them continuing to show some clod in the stands with his ball cap firmly affixed, I figured enough progress had been made and never mentioned it in this venue.

You know, I have to give NA__AR a belated "Atta Boy," IRT the National Anthem.

If you'll remember, it wasn't but four or five years ago that they put the drivers in their cars before the Anthem. The first driver I remember purposely staying out of his car and standing tall during the Anthem was Bobby Labonte. I remember remarking to my wife that it was about time someone did that.

It seemed as though within a couple months it was SOP for them to waiting until post Anthem before strapping in.

I thought it but never have said it before; Thank you, NA__AR.

Now if they'll keep finding people who want to sing it as it's written instead of like it's an American Idols audition, I'll be overjoyed!
