I wrote the above and it was pretty pointed. I still don't care for Kevie but last Monday I heard another side of Harvick I hadn't heard before and he impressed me.
During the Tony Stewart Show on SIRIUS, before Stewart got his back waxed (it sounded absolutely brutal!) Tony and Kev talked about Tony's going into the wall. No juvenile banter and it didn't strike me as being prepared or scripted, just two competitors talking with each other. Harvick took responsibility. That was it. No excuses, no alibis, no BS. They both sounded like honest-to-goodness adults. I was proud of them

Then Kevin said something which impressed the Hell out of me. They were discussing Daytona and the talk got around to the previous winners who were honored. Kevin spent about five straight minutes telling the audience how humbled he was to be in their collective presence during the driver's meeting. He went on to express feelings that it is important for NASCAR to protect its heritage and spend more time and effort honoring its past heroes. He echoed the feelings I've expressed here many times , in that there are a lot of fans out there who have no knowledge of NASCAR prior to the early or mid 90's and really don't care about this history.
He said that he feels it is important for a fan to take the time to learn this history because to fully appreciate what NASCAR is today one should understand and be aware of the NASCAR of yesterday.

Way to go, Kevin. After Monday evening I have a whole lot more respect for you. Of course, I'm a history fanatic so my new feelings are a bit biased.

In fact, I was so impressed that, in this post, I intentionally left in the "SC" in NA__AR, to honor Harvick's little speech.

So, IRT my above quoted post, I stand corrected, to a point.

It would appear that Bob T's password has been compromised. Someone must have logged onto his account and said something nice about Harvick. Wait til Bob sees this !!!

I'm new here but I take it that Bob doesn't really care for Harvick? That's great.

I still think he an irritating twit whose choice of spouses leaves a lot to be desired, but, come to think of it, I think they probably deserve one another.

All I said was that I gain a lot of respect for him, IRT his view on NASCAR history. But then, Bill Clinton liked animals too, which goes to prove, as in Kevie's stature, one "Atta-Boy" doesn't completely erase a bucket full of (as I recently saw it referred to) "A.H.'s"
