Martinsville Speedway ran its first NASCAR race on July 4, 1948. In 1949, Martinsville ran the sixth race in the series that eventually became the Cup Series. Martinsville Speedway opened in 1947 with 750 seats and has grown continuously over the years. But other than being paved in 1955, the track configuration has not changed since Red Byron won the inaugural event.

We look forward to taking a week off and then we get right back into racing again. We return to a short track where we can once again bang fenders and watch tempers flare. This race will be on Sunday March 30th. FOX will go live at 1:30 PM and our "Live Chat" will start at 2 PM.

Last year a sway bar was missing from the Rousch racing area. Seems that Mikey Waltrip and gang ended up with it. It took many months before an admission by Waltrip came forth. Probably just a war of words for now. In my eyes they both look stupid.
