If you read the article carefully, it appears the writer was talking to McDowell who was answering honestly and saying what everyone already knows: MWR's primary sponsors are UPS and NAPA, and they'll do what they need to do to keep them satisfied. Cleverly, the writer makes use of "what everybody knows" in framing his story. I didn't see anything that smacked of "from Mikey"... This may be another case where the media is trying to "make" a story out of a "long shot maybe."
If the media would just report instead of analyze and surmise, (almost) everyone would be happier. It amazes me how many people (present company excepted) will take the media's word as gospel and run screaming "the sky is falling!" down the street. I, for one, would rather use
my brain than take the word of some media hack who's looking to pad his wallet with stories (fact or fiction, makes no difference) published....
