Start your engines! Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced Jeff Gordon, legendary NASCAR driver of car #24, will be featured as the cover athlete for EA Sports NASCAR 09. NASCAR 09 is scheduled to ship in North America on June 10 and will offer an authentic, exhilarating stock car driving experience for racing fans of all ages.

One of NASCAR's most celebrated and successful drivers for more than a decade, Gordon is ranked 6th all time in Cup Series wins with 81 and is a four-time Sprint Cup Series champion. Gordon is a member and partial owner of Hendrick Motorsports.

"It's exciting being on the cover of NASCAR 09," says Gordon. "The game is as real as it gets and it's been great being involved with it on this level. I look forward to helping gamers in NASCAR 09."

I've had a few PC versions of that program and each one gets better. Nothing like driving backwards around the track. Seems to get a few people on edge !!!

Same here, there is talk that it will arrive on the Wii next year though. I am still playing the 05 gamecube version.

I have played it on the Cube, but, yeah... with the MarioKart Wheel attachments coming out for the remotes, I wants me a Wii version.

My son and dau-in-law would just like a Wii. Tough to find and when they are available they have all sorts of unwanted software with them.

I got a PS3 so I don't have worry about Lefty's, they don't make games for my system issue. I'll probably rent NASCAR 09 but not buy it.

One of my friends was talkin about gettin one...... He mentioned that the other night in class, and one of our classmates said have the cash ready and he would get him one. He knows some people who know when they come in to the store

I was lucky. Someone I knew had a relative who really wanted to get one for her kids, so she offered to go along and pick one up for us if we'd give her the money. I got it Dec. 2006, not long after launch. It's a blast... especially the Wii Sports and Madden 07 games. Of course, the RPG geek in me had to play Fire Emblem too, but I digress ( considering most people here probably don't know what I'm talking about ).
