| Re: Birth photos of Dovers Miles the Monster composite I'm going to try and get down to the track to take some pics from this end! It appears that the base is done, or close to it! There are no plaques on it yet, but the rest seems to be done! Great job on the progress pics of Miles! I;ve been following this thread closely. You will be able to see Miles from the road facing the front stretch of the track, which is the side that faces away from US13!

Thanks Phils!! I feel really bad, as that I kind of feel that I stole your thread. You started a thread about it, I looked for it to add to it and I couldn't find it, I'm sorry. Please feel free to start a new thread if you like for your photos of Miles the Monster, although I take no offense if you would like to continue in this thread. We are kind of shooting for May 31th to come down, Bobby Allison is "to be" there, it's still TBA on time and location. Maybe we could meet up? I'm trying to "kill 2 birds with 1 stone", I would really love to see Bobby!! He was my first "hero." I would really love to be able to come down and take photos as it continues, but .............. the stinkin' cost of gas!! I just paid $3.59 a gallon!! It cost me $52.00 to fill it up, it only used to cost maybe a top of very high side to $25.00. I know, I know it is worse in other areas, but this just getting out of control!! At any rate, you and maybe Oncea3fan will be getting some photos from your local end. Any chance that you get to go check out the progress, those guys are awesome in work style and hospitality!! I'm so happy that I got the chance to meet them and interact with them. Everybody was so nice to me: a crazy, in the way girl who wouldn't go away!! ACI composite and freelance sculptors: Thanks you guys, if you are still checking us out!! I thank you for making me feel as if I was somebody who belonged there!! I appreciate your kindness, generousity and respect. I"m as well an artist, certainly not on such a major scale!! Just paintings, drawings and shadow boxes. What a once in a lifetime opportunity: to "watch" the birth of Miles the Monster. To me to be able to "witness" the birth of Miles the Monster is what I think it would have like to to take "photos" (LOL) of Michangelo painting the Sistine Chapel. I think that it would have cool to hang out with the likes of Michangelo, Van Gogh, Escher, Dali, Norman Rockwell, etc., as you can see I like alot of "variety of style." What a great experience I walked away with: having the opportunity to see a great sculpture being formed and shaped from nothing into a 47 foot tall that is possibly actually 51 foot tall if to the tip of the wing on the car. THANK YOU EVERYBODY ON THE MONSTER GANG!! I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY AND RESPECT. THANKS YOU GUYS YOU ARE TRULY WORLD CLASS!! I'm sorry but we need more smileys per post!! |

| Re: Birth photos of Dovers Miles the Monster composite No apologies are needed! The point about the thread is just how cool this is gonna be, and without your photos and reports, this thread would have died on the vine! Instead, I thank you for keeping it going, and I hope that as it gets here, and comes together, I can help complete the story! Any Photos I get will come right back here, as we team up to bring folks the start to finish tale of the birth of Miles, and the dedication of it! Please carry on! |

| Re: Birth photos of Dovers Miles the Monster composite Oh, and I work May 31rst!! Any chance you might make it down on the 14th for the opening, with Jeff Gordon there? I'm off that day, and I will be at the Sunday race, but I didn't want to take vaca for the NW race! Hope to catch up with some GTG folks on Sunday, even though that is a CRAZY day! I'm really going to miss going on Saturday, we have a great time at the track that day! |

| Re: Birth photos of Dovers Miles the Monster composite is the 14th the nvailing of miles, I might take a vacation day for that, if I can get someone to cover me. if I get to the track this weekend I'll drive around back and snap some pic's |
