| Only 46 cars entered for Bristol? This leaves me with a few questions: 1- Does this mean that the COT is NOT less expensive for small teams? 2- What happens if only 42 cars enter a race? 3- When was the last time only 46 cars showed up to qualify? |

Actually, the Wood Brothers will be around awhile, for six more races anyway. When Jarrett retires and Kurt will be in the Chosen, Bill Elliott will get the Champ Provisional.

Only 42 cars will run, but I am pretty sure some third party will come and grab 43rd place money. Much like Morgan Sheppard is doing in Nationwide, ride till the first pit stop then park the car with "handling" problem and grab a 38-43rd position. But if only 42 cars would be in a race, it might be a wake up call to NASCAR that small team can't survive. But NASCAR might not see it...

| Re: Only 46 cars entered for Bristol? Nascar used to have less than 40 for a lot of races back in the early 90's..........didn't hurt the racing any. The reduction in teams isn't surprising in today's economy. |
