strangely I do .. but I don't know why. so I went to racing-reference.info and he wasn't in their list of drivers!!! finally found him in Wikipedia. then it came back .. another one who drove daddy's cars for a while. said his career came to a slow end after he injured his neck... still 48 races over 6 years isn't so brief.

Yeah, Daddy was affiliated with Hooters, in some way (I think he was a corporate attorney) . Jimmy Hensley was Alan's test driver and Alan had stated, publicly, that if any time he couldn't drive, Jimmy was his automatic fill in.

When we lost Alan, Jimmy drove the car for awhile but Loy's dad influenced Hooters to inform Hensley he "didn't fit Hooter's image," and they put Loy, who apparently did, in the seat. He immediately wrecked half the stable (it seems to me, anyway) and Geoff Bodine bought the team.

He then drove for Tri-Star for a few years and his driving got better but he still couldn't manage consistency. Finally Scott Barbour let him drive a few races, then <poof!>, he was gone.
