| Re: Cup Chase Standings Kind of funny that Jr.'s crew chief isn't going to win and popularity contests around here, but apparently he knows something the other HMS crew chiefs haven't figured out yet. My guess is JG and JJ will catch up eventually. Not so sure about Casey Mears.

| Re: Cup Chase Standings Dale Junior is moving up this list each and every week, it seems! Put him in great equipment and he'll show that he can be very competitive as this shows. What also has me impressed is that all four car manufacturers are represented in the top-12 and not only Vickers but Kurt Busch doing as great as he is considering he has had to qualify with the "GOGH" (go or go home) group every week and if he uses his provisional, he starts from the tail end of the pack! Kurt Busch has really impressed me!

| Re: Cup Chase Standings No JJ or JG in the top 12 but when was the last time you saw a driver go from HERO to (almost) ZERO in ONE WEEK?!? At the end of the Vegas race last week, CARL EDWARDS was atop the standings, looking down at everyone. Then the "oil tank cover-gate" thing happened and after NASCAR chopped his points, he fell to mid-pack and ended last week in 7th or 8th place. Not bad, still in the chase bracket... Then came Atlanta yesterday and right about the time the #99 car was headed out to lap the field, it all went south and the engine let go... Too bad they could not put "Speedy Dry" on Carl's standing like they did on the track after he dropped all that oil! If you glance at the current standings as of week 4, Mr. Edwards is not only OUT of the chase bracket, he's all the way in 17th place! Carl Edwards went from 1st place to 17th place in the span of about six or seven days! Mamma mia!!! |
