| Petty finds investor? Petty finds investor? Yahoo! Sports has learned through two independent sources that Richard Petty [#43, #45] will soon announce that he has struck a deal with a major investor that should keep the Petty name in the sport it has been so instrumental in building. While it's obviously good to keep the Petty name alive in NASCAR, it also signals the beginning of the end of an era.(Yahoo!Sports)(3-9-200 |

| Re: Petty finds investor? Kyle Petty is 40th in points and right now I don't see how he gets in the top 35. He finished 7 laps back today and raced all day. Once he's out of the top 35 I'm not sure he even makes races because if you look at his recent qualifying attempts he's usually 40th-42nd. I think PE has ridden the "king" to death. It's time they have to start riding up front with both teams at least occasionally to draw real sponsorship money. The charity deal with Kyle can only go so far. At some point people want real results and it's been a long time since PE had any. |

| Re: Petty finds investor? Recent rumors of Bobby Labonte leaving the team... The team leaving Level Cross and moving to Mooresville after 50-plus years... The 45 car running terrible compared to other teams of similar size, etc... Jack Welch once said: "If you don't have a competitive advantage, don't compete." This news tells me that if we all want to see the fabled Petty name continue in NASCAR Cup racing, and not merely as a driving school, something has to happen.
