Drivers' uniforms are plastered with dozens of sponsorship decals, but keep an eye on the shirts of NASCAR TV announcers, because some of them are rumored to be trying to shop around the space for logo rights on their shirts to various racing sponsors � in effect offering to wear a sponsor's logo during telecasts in exchange for a fee, of as much as $250,000. Some sponsors who have been approached by the TV journalists have expressed chagrin; however, some sponsors are apparently willing to pay for the extra TV attention. A NASCAR spokesman said he was unaware of the issue and declined to say what the NASCAR's response might be. DW when he is on the speed channel immediately before and immediately after the FOX broadcast has Toyota emblem on one of his lapels and SPEED on he other already.

Sad part is some of the sponsors might get alot more tv time than they do with the car they sponsor.

That is the problem I see with this $ doesn't go toward racing.

But it is not something new, look on SPEED, they mostly all have their personal sponsorship. Kenny Wallace JEGS, DW Toyota, Hermie Sadler HotPass,...

If I'm Spencer, I make move to require all shirt based sponsorship be required to be a minimum of 2" lettering, thereby limiting the number of sponsorships per peck, rendering all billboards other than my own, disadvantageously limiting.

If NASCAR wants to make their announcers advertise they could at least make it subtle . They could have DW or DJ drink a Coke all race allow the camera to clearly see it was a Coke. But advertising on their shirts come on!
