Thunderbolt Raceway - New Jersey

Know we've done previous updates on this before, but this, as can be seen by the video on the home page, is happening, and fast.

There has been much talk over time about a NASCAR track within the New York Metro and/or Atlantic City area. This fits both accepted definitions and could be it. Plans include a 3/4 mile dogleg / tri-oval (Phase 3) with stands that seem to anticipate fairly large initial crowds. Hotels, conference centers, restaurant.

Carrol Shelby involved, more than one significant road course series and other already committed (see "Events"), State Government providing favorable financial considerations.

Phils, you been following this? It's in our backyard.

Welcome to New Jersey Motorsports Park

I wasn't, but I saved that site for the track! Sounds cool!

Now that I see it, I'm thinking if hitting the Rolex Series or the Arca/Remax racing!

Maybe both!

I just signed up for the mailing list.

Thought you might "hook" on that. We've been to the airport grounds that this is being established on. Historical.

ARCA Remax could be interesting on the road course. SCCA ain't to shabby either. Gonna see if we can't get some time for the opening month and give it a look see.

Looks pretty first class.

We haven't done carts in a while, but dang. Would love to do a rental on some of the courses they are planning. Heart pumping already.

Same here!! I got right on the phone to my Father. You can almost see the Del Mem Br from where I grew up, so it isn't that far!

I gonna see a lot of racing this year. Both Dover Races, Fall LMS, now this place. And there are some "local" tracks I plan on checking out too!

Excellent year upcoming for you. As you are likely aware, we've done bother Dover events for the last 20 years or so. Very nice place to be part of the experience.

LMS is impressive if you've not previously been there. If time allows, many race shops very near by.

re: Local NJ track. Of Bridgeport, Wall, and New Egypt, New Egypt would be #1 suggestion. However, Bridgeport ain't horrible, and from Dela, it is real close.

Enjoy. You got a nice "motorsports" year planned.

LMS is a great place to see a race!

I saw the 600 there in 99, and have been there a few other times. The tour of the shops made for a great day!!
