Larry Mac is full of the proverbial BS when he says track promotors have nothing to do with the way NASCAR makes its races and rules.

Look at Humpy Wheeler as example A. He whispers anything to NASCAR about how he wants the all-star race run and guess what...it happens. EVERY TIME.

If promotors/race track owners aren't happy, NASCAR ain't happy.

I must disagree.There are only 5 cup track owners and Humpy ain't one of them.ISC=own 12,operate 13 tracks.SMI=own 7 tracks.That is 31 out of 36 cup races.Only Indy=1 race,Dover=2 races and Pocono=2 races are not owned by ISC or SMI.I do not think Dover,Pocono,Canada or Mexico want to wiz on what they have.Indy at this time needs Nascar.We shall see how it works out with IRL/CHAMP merger as to what Indy wants to do down the line. My post was to your post not what Larry Mac said.There are only 2 big owners that need to be happy.France and Smith.Who cares about a promo person like that woman at Califorina Mikey gave advice to. Even Humpy for that matter.Keep Smith happy and little Humpy is happy.
