| Re: 2008 Daytona 500 Winner Ryan Newman Congrats to Newman from me as well! As far as Newman goes, he is a very good driver, and it was not a great surprise that he pulled one out! I don't remember how he ran during the week, but he is a very good driver. |

| Re: 2008 Daytona 500 Winner Ryan Newman Most of them will Bears if you just sit back and enjoy the actual racing instead of the constant jabber by the village idiots in the booth who try to make you see the race different from what it really is. In their eyes it's all Jr, Jeff and Jimmie. The fact is there are 40 other cars out there. Today they seldom even mentioned Bobby Labonte's name. He ended up 11th which for PE is a good start to the year.

| Re: 2008 Daytona 500 Winner Ryan Newman Maybe .... If they don't get the right front issues figured out by then it still could be interesting. |

Ryan's problems for the past several years have been that he can go fast (he usually has the most poles in a season), but hasn't been able to translate that speed to the other end of the race. His last win was at Louden in 2005, so he's had a long dry spell... I think he slipped under the radar 'cause of all the focus on 'Yotas and Jr....

I used to love it when the drivers would throw the competions prop off the car. I think Bobby Labonte won the Exide 500, and tossed the fake battery off his car. Several drivers did this sort of stuff, until NASCAR put a stop to it! |
