Juan Pablo Montoya In 2008

a new season and a new start for Montoya

i would call 2007 a success ...... 20th in points and 1 win

for 2008 i would call it a success if he finishes 15+ in points with 2+ wins

I'll give Montoya two wins, just outside the chase

Not that I agree but I think today success is based on making the chase.

Re: Juan Pablo Montoya In 2008

he's gonna have to start playing a little nicer with the race leaders, though. some of these guys will get revenge!!! and that'll ruin a season real quick.

That is his most appealing quality, and his biggest handicap. The fact that he doesn't "play the game".

He will have my respect if he can do it his way, but the odds are against him, just for the reason that he won't bow down to the powers that be.

My favorite moment with him last year was grabbing Harvicks helmet, and watching Harvick sort of change his tune.

This year should be interesting to watch. I hope they don't take his spirit.

Re: Juan Pablo Montoya In 2008

Yep half the fun of watching Montoya is his personality. I hate it when they kill the personalities of guys like JPM and Stewart.

I wasn't talking about his personality .. when you wreck the leaders it has a way of coming back to haunt you...

Re: Juan Pablo Montoya In 2008

For better or worse Montoya's "spirit" comes from the fact that he doesn't bow to the powers that be. He was the same in F1, and also before that.
Wonder if there's a NASCAR equivalent for taking out Schumacher in the Monaco tunnel.

I suppose JPM's merchandise sales will go through the roof by all the fans who hate Clint Bowyer!

i guess Pablo has started the same as last year. when is NASCAR going to come down on him for spinning the leader of a race?

Re: Juan Pablo Montoya In 2008

Did either Boyer or Juan make statment(s) regarding what they felt happened? Didn't see anything from either of them and each time we saw the replays available could not be absolutely sure exactly what occurred. Couldn't tell if Boyer was losing the rear end which contributed to a tap from Juan or not. For that matter, did not see a replay that clearly showed a tap at all, no matter how much it appeared as if one did occur.
