Outside of the fact that teams help each other to win races, especially during restrictor plate races, what is important, which team wins or driver?, as there is 43 different personalities out there with their own fans.
By pooling resources teams could esentially double or triple the amount of tests and resources then share information. It has been a totally unfair to single car teams to allow multicar teams. I want to see a return to owner operators having a fair chance to get in to the show and not sharing someon elses championship points while they use a champions provisional. Bud Moore should not have had to miss the Daytona 500 because of a multicar strategy but he did and that is just another sign that NASCAR has turned its back on those who made the sport what it is today.

Funny you should ask...
Results for 1998 show multi-car teams won 25 races and single car teams won eight.

Results for 2007 show multi-car teams 36 - single car teams 0

Yep, if I wanted to get into the NA__AR ownership game and support the sport, stats like that would sure make me optimistic, wouldn't they you?

Your right, these days it doesn't pay, money talks BS walks (the new reality).
But I was referring to the previous dates posted and looking at Driver winning percentage and not necessarily recent team winnings, as in the old days of single car teams.
As in Petty's 200, Pearson's 105 etc..

Those numbers wer skewed because Petty had factory backing and a sponsor when other people didn't. Once the field was leveled in the late 80's and early 90's Petty quickly became a non-factor.
