CTS at Daytona

Todd Bodine wins the first race of the season in the Craftsman Truck Series, The Chevy Silverado 250. Kyle Busch was 2nd and Johnny Benson ended up 3rd.

Accidents took out Hornaday, Spargue and Skinner.

Re: CTS at Daytona

That was a wild race.

Two "big ones".....don't usually see that with the trucks.

Nice to see Todd win it.

Re: CTS at Daytona

Not a bad race. There were some crazy moments. The wrecks gave some different folks a shot at running up front, but a vet won the day!

I was Hoping JB would get it done, but it was still a good finish!

Re: CTS at Daytona

It was great as usual. It kept my attention the whole way through, and it was a good chess match at the end . Too bad for Darnell though, he had a great truck.

Also, glad PJ is OK. That was the biggest fireball I've seen in quite a long time.

Re: CTS at Daytona

I was hoping Benson would win it too. I hated what happened to Darnell. And I was also glad to see that PJ was ok. As always I watched every minute of it. Hope I can do that for the race Sun but it's doubtful.

Re: CTS at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Todd Bodine missed his brother's Daytona victory in 1986.
Now, he knows how it feels to win at NASCAR's most famous track.
Bodine held off a late push from Kyle Busch and Johnny Benson to win the season-opening truck race Friday night and pick up his first victory at Daytona International Speedway.
Bodine needed 17 years and 34 tries to get it.
"Finally to get to Victory Lane, it was incredible," Bodine said. "This racetrack has been pretty cruel to us and now it's been pretty good to us in a couple ways."
Bodine was in North Carolina, working on his late model stock car, when Geoff Bodine won the 1986 Daytona 500.
He missed that party.

Re: CTS at Daytona

I see Erin Crocker is running trucks again. I believe she was in a Chevy though, not a GEM Dodge. She was holding her own running around 7th place until the last lap when she got roughed up and bumped out of the way and slid to the back of the pack. No offense against women, but you gotta have 'nads to run in that series.

Actually it appears as if all she may have needed was a Toyo.

4 of top 5 (the first 4), and 5 of the top 10, were Toyos.

Maybe Toyo ought consider changing the name from Tundra to 'nads.

All other manufacturers, consistent with their performance, would be ---- well, something other than 'nads.

Based on all of the above, her hangin' in at/around 7th sounds pretty impressive.

I think she did pretty good. Don't think her getting bumped around and ending up moving backwards was due to the fact that she's a woman, since it was happening to guys also.
Remember awhile back when she and Ray decided that in order for her to be taken serious as a driver she needed to drive for someone else instead of him. Personally I think that was his nice way of saying I can't afford for you to keep wrecking my vehicles.
