Junior's Car impounded by Nascar (Busch Series)

Earnhardt Jr.'s Car Impounded by NASCAR: Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway hasn't been perfect for Dale Earnhardt Jr. after all. The #5 car Earnhardt will drive in Saturday's Nationwide Series opener was impounded by NASCAR on Thursday night after officials discovered the team altered the spoiler to create an aerodynamic advantage following inspection. The car was returned on Friday morning minus the trunk lid and spoiler, repaired and sent back through inspection. It will be allowed to run in the race. Joe Balash, the Nationwide Series director, said further sanctions against the team and crew chief Chad Walter will be issued on Tuesday. NASCAR officials considered sending Walter home because the offense was considered blatant, but opted to hold off on what could result in a suspension.(ESPN.com)(2-15-200

Hopefully this year they (NASCAR) will be consistent in their calls and equal in their justice.

Re: Junior's Car impounded by Nascar (Busch Series)

Not about Junior but still within the Busch series:

Five Qualifying Times Disallowed: UPDATE: Qualifying speeds for #77-Cale Gale, #1-Johnny Sauter, #14-David Gilliland, #64-David Stremme, and #0-Kertus Davis were found to have illegal modifications to their cars following qualifying. #0-Kertus Davis will now miss the race.(2-15-200
UPDATE: After qualifying, NASCAR announced the times for David Gilliland, David Stremme, Johnny Sauter, Cale Gale and Kertus Davis were disallowed. All cars were found in violation of a NASCAR rule involving the lid on the oil tank behind the driver's seat. All but Davis regained entry based on owner points. Dwayne Leik replaces Davis in the 43-car field.(USA Today)(2-15-200
