Probation was the name of the game for the two former champions who got into an arguing match with two 3,500lb race cars Friday night. Who cares if the actions have cost drivers points and fines in the past, for NASCAR is set about making NASCAR more user-friendly to people who like controversy.

Step one in that process is apparently slapping the weakest penalty known to man on the two drivers who consistently find themselves on the wrong side of NASCAR's ire.

Yep, Stewart and Busch earned a six-race probation for their antics. Nope, not a suspension. Not a fine. No community service. And nope, no points deductions either.

Probation.

We're talking about probation, man!

Busch eraned the weakest penalty ever, and Smoke got screwed. He should have just gotten out of the car right there on pit road, since he got punished for nothing anyway. There were 11 other drivers in a wreck earlier, why no probation for them??? In this case, I really think NASCAR got it wrong.

No points or money taken. NA__AR says it wants to send a message that using your cars as weapons on pit road won't be tolerated.

Was it last year, or year before last that Tony was put on probation, then he screwed up and NA__AR re-put him on probation? (Double Secret Probation?) - NO, NO, NO I am NOT blaming Stewart for last weeks fiasco. It was Bush all the way.

All this was today was a PR stunt. Trying to look like you're doing something when, in effect, you do nothing. Total BS, in this person's opinion.

First you and your lovely bride have a baby. Then, as the child gets older and is in need of displicine, simply tell it that you're "Putting it on probation so don't do it again." Notice how well it works.

Did you hear Tony's statement on the matter. "It's something I've done before so I can't criticize him for it... What is said in the trailer stays in the trailer. We're not supposed to even discuss it... Kurt and I have just agreed to disagree..."

This is the kind of bland stuff we've heard from Stewart after last year's first Phoenix race: "NASCAR's like the WWF" statement.

All of this is why I think it's possible Tony's will let his contract run out and he'll either dump NA__AR full time or run a limited schedule, either one causing NA__AR to lose one of its stellar stars.

I took his comment as trying to change his public opinion since he always get slammed by the fans and media, or it was his girl friend Tara talking in his ear. Did you see any wire going up to his ear?

Maybe the penalties were not that serious because it was practice. But I don't think Tony should have even got the penalty he did.

Nothing. Wasn't Harvick suspended a couple years ago for doing something similiar to what Busch did?

I gotta give kurt some credit yeah his mouth writes checks that his butt might not be able to cash, but he is the only driver I've seen that doesn't take any of tonys crap.
