Rock-and-roll acts appear to be on their way out at NASCAR races, with country acts taking their place. As the annual NASCAR Sprint Media Tour chugs along this week, the back-to-basics theme for the 2008 season is evident everywhere. On Monday, NASCAR announced it was taking a break from change and making a return, of sorts, to its core values. That includes music. NASCAR has entered into an agreement with Garth Brooks. The country superstar will appear in ads for NASCAR Day. On Tuesday, Sprint unveiled the musical acts who will perform at the Daytona 500. Included will be country singers Brooks & Dunn, as well as retro acts Chubby Checker, Michael McDonald and Kool and the Gang. Good-bye, Bon Jovi and Kelly Clarkson.
