Re: Dale Jarrett moving to Toyota?

I'm not happy about the move to toyota, as a matter of a fact it is very hard to swallow. I will still follow Dale till he retires.... afterwords I will not follow Nascar. The whole sport has gotten to material.... all about the money and not the racing. Hence the Yota invading the sport. If it it was about the racing Yota would never had a shot in making it into the series. As far as Kentucky having a Yota plant... Nascar was for car manufacturers of US ORIGIN. Not car manufacturers that came from foreign nations and have plants here. Nascar just loopholed their wording to make more money. Once again toooo material.

Re: Dale Jarrett moving to Toyota?

Sorry that you will no longer be a NASCAR fan once DJ retires. There are and will be other good drivers out there for you to cheer on. I've been a NASCAR fan for well over 30 years and I've seen many great drivers come and go but I certainly agree with your assessment that NASCAR is all about the money. Show me a sport that isn't. Unfortunately most everything in the world today revolves around the dollar bill in one way or another. That isn't going to change and the dependance of any sport on the dollar will only increase. I enjoy the basics of NASCAR and even though they are constantly trying to change those I'll continue to be a fan and try to adapt. As long as they crash safely, run hard and smoke the tires at the end, I think I'll still be a fan.

Hi, Quality88, glad you found this site. We have a lot of fun. Hey, did you see that Busch race a while back when Hmiel (before he got booted) spun DJ out? That was sooo funny, DJ saying "where did you think you were going, young man?" DJ's a classy guy.

No, not with everyone retiring. Oh, another thing that I like when DJ does is when he used to walk along the track when he was involved in a wreck. When the rescue workers used to take a long time to get to his car, when they finally did get to him, he would just keep walking. Then he would wave to the crowd. That was cool.

Ah yes the Daytona night race... That was great... He waited forever and finally said the heck with it. The crowd went crazy when he told the ambulance to go on and leave him alone. That's DJ for you. It takes him alot to lose his composure, but, when he does he makes a statement... Ryan Newman found that out last year at Bristol.

Well, ya know, you could still watch after DJ quits driving. Then you could tune in to see how his team(s) are doing at MWR.See how good he is at managing or whatever role he's going to have.

Re: Dale Jarrett moving to Toyota?

Just finished watching an interview with DJ on Speed. He said they are in negotiations with UPS right now. The contract with RYR expires this year so UPS is up for grabs.

In a few ways I do have connections to the association. I do not have a balloon but I am a crew member for two different pilots. One is a commercial pilot (paid rides) and the other is a private pilot. My pay from him is an occasional ride. We are slightly east and north of Lake George. Beautiful area to go ballooning in. We fly in the AM and PM here. Some areas only fly in the AM due to winds. We also fly in the winter which most people are totally unaware of. We get to see all kinds of animals running through the woods in the winter. Summertime is a bit more difficult with all the folliage. I also designed and maintain the website that you looked at.

Also in keeping with the thread DJ also noted that Mike offered him 1-2-3 years and at this point he is shooting for 2 but if he feels good enough, and does well, he may stay longer. Time will tell.

Re: Dale Jarrett moving to Toyota?

Have you guys noticed how many replies this thread has, and how many hits? Almost 1,000!!!! Amazing. And LSC, I've always wanted to go for a hot air balloon ride. What's it like? Is it amazing as well?

Re: Dale Jarrett moving to Toyota?

If you've never done it and have the $$ and chance then by all means go for it. We generally fly from tree tops to 3000 feet. You have no sensation of movement since you move at the same rate of speed as the wind. Landings can be interesting since you never know where you'll end up. I enjoy it immensely and take every opportunity to fly or crew when ever I can.
