It was Gordon throwing it at Mikey! I saw Gordon and his crew chief at Talladega last Oct. we were in the same restaurant. Some ARCA crew member took a picture of me and him! Don't ask me why, he just approached me at the table. LOL!

Curious. Didn't think about that! Where are they going-the profits I mean, maybe back to Japan! I'm sure US gets a small cut! Does anyone know the answer to that question?

I didn't personally meet him, he was only 2 tables from me. He seemed reserved and quiet, wanting to keep to himself and his friends but he did let a few young ladies get a photo with him and he got his picture taken I think with the manager of the restaurant. The ARCA guys are more outgoing and friendly! They don't have everyone harrassing them either.

Ford 'disappointed' with Jarrett decision

SCENEDAILY - 2:15PM ET SATURDAY MAY 13, 2006 -

DARLINGTON, S.C. - Ford officials responded quickly to this afternoon's announcement that 1999 NASCAR Cup champion Dale Jarrett is leaving the manufacturer for a Toyota team in 2007.
Shortly after Jarrett and his future team owner Michael Waltrip held a joint news conference to make the announcement, Dan Davis, director, Ford Racing Technology, issued a statement concerning the loss of Jarrett from Ford and team owner Robert Yates.
"We're obviously not happy Dale is leaving Robert Yates Racing because he's been a champion and a great ambassador for Ford fans," the statement read. "We understand his decision, but we are disappointed.
"Toyota is going to have its work cut out for them competing in Nextel Cup, no matter how much they plan on spending. Our plan is to keep winning races and championships."

I gotta believe (and who doesn't) that Jarrett's move is all about $$$$$. He is in the waning years of his career, hasn't done much in the past couple of years and is going with an owner who would have been nothing without DEI. Toyota has zero history with NASCAR so why else would Jarrett leave a proven team such as Ford/Yates ???

Well, with all the publicity it wasn't a shock that DJ is moving to MW Racing, but who will Yates get to replace him? Ward Burton? Some young kid? And will Team Yates still support DJ now that he's going to be a Toyota man? I like DJ and I hate to see him run so bad. So many questions and so little answers. Guess we'll have to be patient til next year. Patience is not one of my strong points.

The information I've heard the money is re-invested here. The reason the motor Co. build in the country they are selling the product is to avoid tariffs.

If you believe that your American made car was made in America, then take a look at all the parts on it because they were made in Japan. Toyota cars and trucks are more American made than GM, Ford or Dodge. Toyota is at the top of the heap because American people buy their cars, so why should they not be in Nascar. Every now and then someone comes along and raises the bar, regardless of the sport, and this time is no acception. Jack Roush is just pissed because he knows the competition will be even tougher when they are up and going. Toyota didn't throw a bunch of money at DJ either. They simply gave him what RYR didn't want too, the chance to have his own team after he retires.
