NASCAR to rase minimum age for Sprint cup drivers?

Word is that NASCAR might increase the minimum age for Sprint Cup drivers soon. That could impact several drivers, most notably Joey Logano, a development driver for Joe Gibbs Racing. Logano turns 18 this season and will make his Nationwide Series debut shortly after that. If he has success, he likely could make his first Cup start next year (when he's 19) or the year after. A NASCAR rule change could keep him in the Nationwide Series for three years. -- The Virginian-Pilot

How come more and more "reporters" (Medidiots) near never seek to provide the answer to the question "why" anymore? These are ignorable people. Of no value. They make their subject look like a mystery provoking controversey based on their own lack of ability to pursue and gain information of value.

They are reason and cause for the inclusion of the "delete" key.

Because "investigative reporting" is becoming/has become an almost completely lost art form. Demanding that interviewees actually give answers to questions and finding out why things are the way they are is seen by many as being confrontive. God help us if we should actually press for an answer and hurt some one's feelings, or cause them to lose their precious self esteem.

The same holds true when a politico is interviewed and asked a question which has either an simple "yes," or "no." answer. You immediately get a three minute explanation which, ultimately, completely skirts the original question. Demanding a "yes," or "no" is seen as a rude tactic.

That's my answer to your "How come..." question anyway.

2 reasons.

one Bob has already covered quite eloquently.

the other is if you ask why, you might have to understand something. it's much easier to parrot than to actually understand something about what your reporting on.

Well put my friend, very well put. I hate the media for just that reason. Although this is not a political arena I'll use it as an example. Time after time a journalist (I use that term very loosely) will ask a question about taxes and by the time the question is answered the subject has somehow turned to foreign affairs. Rude or not I'd love to see one of these media representatives keep asking the question until it is addressed. The same applies to what your asking about. They are not interested in answers, they are more interested in selling a story. True or not.

Isn't it?

Where does one draw the line between pure politics and the way the forum topic, our favourite sport, is administered?

Like it of not, that is what sets this forum apart from the majority of the other NA__AR forums. We don't well on the shallow personality side of racing, and devote our time to bantering about "My driver." We aren't afraid to use our verbal scalpels and cut to the meat of the matters going on in NA__AR.

When you cut to the final analysis I'd say the heart of NA__AR is 60% financial, 30% political and 10% personality. I think NA__AR and the media would love to have believe those figures are reversed, more to the tune of 80% personality and 20% financial.

Well let me rephrase that then. We are not entirely a political arena. Yes politics factors in but lets be true to thyne own selves and admit politics touches everything in one way or another. When it touches me I get cold chills wondering which pocket the money is coming out of this time.
