New Truck Rules

OK, I know that someone posted about the restrictor plates. Well, the same brain trust that came up with the plates has decided to giv the trucks the 17 gallon gas tank as well. They want more pit stops, like the cup series...

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Don't they understand that part of what makes the trucks popular is the faster pace of the races??? I don't want them to end up just like cup, then you have three series that are pretty much the same.

Damn, I'm disappointed in this!!!

Well, I can't say I'm surprised at this. I mean for one it wasn't broken so you knwo they had to fix it. Two there was no way in hell they were gonna let the truck series get bigger and better than the cup series. I noticed the other day on nascar.com that at the daytona test session the trucks now have splitters on them....

Re: New Truck Rules

Bullfeathers indeed. They just had a segment on the Speed Channel, while updating on the truck testing. That was how I found out. If I said what a really think, I might get a week off from here. I'm just saddened by the continued lack of vision of the NASCAR powers that be.

I'm just bummed....

I can't wait to see what the rest of our little group has to say about this.

Talk about taking the excitement out of the new truck season!!

Just think about it a second. Many people, both fans and media-types, have publicly stated that the CTS is the best racing in NA__AR.

We can't have the minor league showing up the major league primma donna's, now can we? Think of it in pet ownership terms. If you have a male dog which you can visualize may cause you problems in the future what do you do? You don't want to get rid of it so you just neuter it, making it nice to have around but not creating any problems.

CTS has its hind legs spread and the sharpe knife with the blunt end is starting to slice.

Re: New Truck Rules

Man that sucks. I was hoping they would leave the trucks alone. At least then we could have had one real good race every weekend.
Dang the trucks for being so much better at racing and so much more fun to watch than the cars. Now they got Francie pooh's attention to that fact and he had to mess them up.

After giving this some thought this might not be such a bad idea. In most of the races the trucks make only one pit stop and I believe that Dennis Setzer won Mansfield last year without stopping?

In hindsight this might not be nearly as bad a deal as putting plates on the things. Now that one I have yet to discern a good reason for doing so.
