| Re: Fantasy League Sports Fantasy Auto Racing - this link should take you right to the rules page, folks. And Ducky, if you're planning on winning, you're gonna have to knock off the defending champ first. |

| Re: Fantasy League Duck, I have another query: I have two drivers out of group "A," each one can run only nine races all season. That is eighteen races. After eighteen races can I pick two more? Can I change drivers (dump one and pick up another at any time during the first eighteen weeks)? I see that after one of my drivers runs nine races I can't replace him? This kind of confuses me. (But then, at my age, almost everything confuses me)

you can replace any driver at any time. most strategies require you match drivers with tracks they have good records at. it's a little harder with rookies, but if ya dig into their past you can usually find something to help .. also knowing something about the rookie's team (actually any driver's team) should help. scenario a: you pick Harvick and Burton as your drivers in Group A, and activate Harvick for the Daytona 500. Harvick qualifies 4th and Burton 3rd, and Harvick finishes 5th while Burton gets a 10th. You have received qualifying points for Burton and race points for Harvick. after the 500, you decide Harvick is not going to do well at California, so you replace him with Kenseth. But you believe Burton to be the better driver at California, so you activate him and he wins the race, but neither driver qualifies in the top 3. you get points for Burton's win only. in this scenario, you have used 3 drivers from the A group, but only 2 have been activated: Harvick and Burton have 8 more uses, but Kenseth has 9 left. you may at any point during the season choose to replace every driver on your team, while maintaining your points accumulated (the points stay with you, not the driver, though they are tracked for the next time you might use one of these drivers.) scenario b: you select Harvick and Burton as your drivers and activate Harvick for the Daytona 500. After each race you activate the other driver so that you are alternating between the two drivers for the next 17 races. after race 17, Harvick is no longer a valid selection and must be replaced (because Harvick has 9 uses, he can no longer occupy a spot on your team .. you must replace him, the system doesn't like it when you leave a spot open, though it will rant at you, nothing bad will happen if you don't fill it.) After race 18, Burton is no longer available, so you must select a driver to replace him. you continue to alternate between your 2 new drivers thru the last race of the season. in this scenario, you used a very simplistic strategy which required only selecting 2 new drivers and using these 4 drivers for the entire season. as you see, there are a number of different scenarios available to you. mostly limited by your imagination. any driver can be replaced at any time they aren't "locked", and you can change your mind whenever you want. one thing to be aware of (especially with Mark Martin and a few others): the "NE" next to their name means they aren't entered in that race .. you can select them, but you're guarnateed to get zero points...

| Re: Fantasy League This is FYI for those who were planning to join Dan's NASCAR League. I just received an email from Dan about his fantasy league. He mentioned one thing that may be disturbing to anyone planning to join up: your only choice for a member name/ID is your email ID. That's what he uses to identify different players. I had told him about our desire to retain our GTG ID's and possibly put GTG on the front. Sorry, no can do. So, unless you have or create an email ID similar to your GTG ID, you won't be able to keep your GTG ID in Dan's NASCAR League. He also said he plans to have his website updated within 2 weeks and sign up can proceed after that time. |
