Question: I just got the head's up from Yahoo that their Fantasy NASCAR is starting.

Should I set up a league there too, or should we all just focus our efforts on this league that Bob sent us?

doesn't Yahoo limit the number of leagues you can be in? seems I was gonna get into the GTG league last year, but was already in another one so couldn't .. since I've slept since then that particular memory is mostly flushed from the short term side...only bits and pieces left.

Yep, they do. Don't know what it is for NASCAR, but it's a max of 3 leagues for football I know.

now that the warm fuzzys have worn off, I just remembered the league Bob & Clutch are in is on AOL .. what Yahoo don't know, won't hurt us.

pretty simple really:

• 3 groups of drivers, select 2 from the A group, 4 from the B group and 2 from the C group
• activate (check the box) of 1 A, 2 B and 1 C. they become your choices for the next race.
• you can only activate a driver 9 times (once each for 9 races), after the 9th, the system doesn't allow you to select that driver again.
• you get qualification points on all 8 drives you selected, but only race points for the 4 you have activated
• you can make selections up to the early morning of qualifying (usually around 1-2AM), after that you can only activate drivers you have selected 'till about 5 mins before the race starts. after that, you're locked until the scores are posted and the next race is enabled.

there are various strategies, usually having to do with a driver's successes or failures at certain tracks: pick one, change it, or create one all your own. there's also more statistics than you can shake a stick at if you want to look for them and use them. intuition is also good. it'll probably take a few races to get your sea legs, then you'll do fine. good luck!

Thanks Ducky, you'll probably have to hold my hand through the first couple of weeks. The one I was in the past couple of years was a bit different. I did the MSN Fantasy League. I'm pretty confident that I was the reason Biffle went downhill. Every time I chose him he would do terrible. I'm sure if I could guarantee that luck again there would be some names that others would ask me to pick !!!
