UConn players and coaches from both schools will visit Lowe's Motor Speedway today as the Meineke Bowl's festivities get in full swing. Among the activities planned is a tire-changing competition involving the head coaches. UConn's Randy Edsall revealed Wednesday that he has some familial experience in the sport. Randy's brother Duke Edsall makes his living as a college basketball official, working mostly ACC games. But Duke Edsall was once the team manager for a NASCAR Busch Series group in the mid-1990s. Duke Edsall worked with driver Curtis Markham in the No. 63 Lysol car, Randy Edsall recalled. So did Duke offer his brother any tips for today? "He said, 'Don't be in a hurry, just be smooth,' " Randy Edsall said. UConn defensive tackle Rob Lunn joked that the always-prepared Edsall had a jack in his hotel room and had been practicing this week. "No," Edsall replied with a smile. "I had NASCAR send me a couple of training tapes."
