This I readily agree with, and wouldnt mind seeing that one happen. But they got no large body cars. They have been in bed together for a number of years now. Remember the Courier with the 2.3? That was a fun truck.

maybe I need to rephrase my question: What models of the 4 manufacturer brands currently in Nascar Cup are considered "large cars" (COT or not)? Impala? Fusion? Challenger? Camry? Monte Carlo? Taurus? Charger?

no, what TF said was Mazadazzling didn't have any "large bodied cars" thus implying, I suppose, that they wouldn't have a model they could run in Cup.

ya got it right .. 110 inch for the 2008 Cup/COT.

Here's the models that each manufacturer will use for the COT in 2008 and their "real world" wheelbases:

Chevy - Impala - 110.5
Ford - Fusion - 107.4
Dodge - Charger - 120.0
Toyota - Camry - 109.3

The Mazda6 has a wheelbase of 107.3 (a Fusion clone - or the other way around????)

The Fusion would be considered the clone I believe. The Mazda6 platform is actually based off a volvo car if i rememeber correctly. My cousin just bought one for his son. Nice ride.

I didn't like Kyle coming to the Gibbs family only now supporting it because Stewart wanted him. Doesn't mean I have to like Kyle people! LOL!

The new Charger has a 120 inch wheel base? We used to have one wheel base for all models. What happened? I havent been involved in Cup since 1990. So I'm a little out of date on the rules and construction guidelines.

Nowadays it's just as long as it's a production car.

Wow! That's only slightly less than a foot shorter than the 1959 Lincoln (131 in.), as far as I know, the longest stock car to ever compete in a NASCAR race.

But, Bob, you and I know the wheelbase of the current showroom model has nothing to do with the race car's wheelbase. They just stretch or shrink the body parts to line up with the race car's wheel locations.

And I challenge anyone to show sufficient similarities between the 2008 Dodge Charger and the 2008 Dodge Charger COT other than the front bumper cover which allow one to identify them as "sisters".

Heck, include the front bumper cover, I don't care. Ya still can't do it!
Race cars, especially stock cars, can sometimes be constructed of diverse body parts without substantially affecting the look of the car.

In our 2nd race of the 3 this past year with our Late Model we suffered some nose damage. We found a brand new (albeit with lot's of "garage wear") '99 Monte Carlo nose cover in the attic. Since it was only for one race, we grafted it onto the car. Looked pretty good on a '96 Thunderbird!!! (That's the body that was on the Late Model at the time.)
