| Johns has talent to be next Johnson or Gordon? Richard Johns won't be disappointed if there aren't many gifts for him under the tree this holiday season - not after securing a seat in the No. 60 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry for the 2008-2009 seasons late last week. "With Richard Johns, we feel like he's a young, talented driver - a diamond that needs a little refinement," Beaman concluded. "We really believe Richard has the talent to be able to someday compete on the level where Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are at now, the Sprint Cup level. Meanwhile, Wyler Racing has a good organization and concept and they have a future in that they want to race in the Sprint Cup Series. They also have Toyota on board and we fell like that's the future of NASCAR racing." -- TruckSeries.com Johns, Wyler Racing Announce Two-Year Deal |

| Re: Johns has talent to be next Johnson or Gordon? I know little of him but it is good to hear that a future cup driver is coming up through the NASCAR ranks instead of other totally different series. I've always felt and probably always will that you need to learn from the bottom up instead of being a name from another series. I guess I would liken it to being great in soccer (football) and jumping into the NFL with no real experience in our football game.

I don't think one can predict who the next big drivers going to be, I mean look at Johnson, he didn't exactly set the Busch Series on fire, he didn't show any signs that he was going to be a two-time Cup Champ, yet once Jeff picked him up and gave him a Cup Car with Hendrick parts, he dominated. I predict the next Johnson or Gordon will be someone we've never even heard of. |

I agree. The next star to come to the front will probably come as a complete surprise.
