| Re: 2008 Predictions Wood Brothers racing cant leave. They been there for so long they are like a cornerstone in our sport. That would be like Petty Enterprises folding. I cant see it. What I can see is David Gilliland getting his first win. Either California, Phoenix,Vegas or Texas. Long live Yates Racing |

As much as we'd love to believe it, nothing is sacred any more in NA__AR, even the name Petty. Like Evernham, Yates, and Roush, unless you manage to find the next Jeff Gordon, and keep him, the ONLY way to success in today's NASCAR is to become so deeply combined with big money that you [almost] lose your individuality and identity.

First and foremost: I honestly admire those (you're in here) that extend themselves with predictions for an upcoming period. Further, I enjoy predictions from those (yeah, you're in there again) with background and studied observations that produce/result in the offered predictions. Second - we enjoy Blaney and would enjoy seeing him excel in Cup And then there's - our history/following of the sport makes us feel pain as we see cornerstone teams (And we do see Davis in there) fade. Now having said all of that, "gut" here feels Reutimann could well be in for "most improved" consideration, while Blaney less so. Reason - teams they are with. Actually feel Blaney to be the better racer. Mikey (W) Racing - say what one might, he's a market exposure dynamo/success. The sponsors do not appear to have left, and some of the recent personnel moves are (surprisingly?) strong. He was Toyo in 2007, and they are not likely to forget it. Now some may want to go anal with "on track" success compared to (fill in the blank with your preference), but exposure/jabber/controversy was clearly provided by MWR when measured in comparison to all other Toyo teams/efforts. BDR - thing of most significance in memory cell here is - investing in seven (?) poster. Wow! Way long winded. Sorry. In summary: Reutimann may have better opportunity for the "notable improvement" than Blaney. But hey, we're both only "predictin". |

Dave's biggest claim to being included my my list was the fact he actually made The Chosen Club. He also ran stronger in more races than did David but with his additional experience in Cup, plus the fact the BDR is an established organization, that would have been expected. On a side note, I saw a commercial for interstate batteries yesterday and the car was a Yota. So it begins
