| Re: Nascar gives Penske it blessing to switch points I've been thinking about that and can't figure out where he'll start. He's basically taking over the #5 which they changed him to the #25 with the #88. So whose points does he get? I say it's a new team, since HMS didn't have the #88 last year. So let him start like every new team, 0 points.

| Re: Nascar gives Penske it blessing to switch points Ok ... almighty ones ... I'm lost! Regardless of the fact that I don't think an owner should be able to even do this (within his/her own stable), does transferring the owner points from Kurt Busch to Sam Hornish Jr. mean that Kurt will start with zero? Not safe for the Chosen? Obviously? Maybe. But nothing in NASCAR is obvious to me anymore!

| Re: Nascar gives Penske it blessing to switch points This whole thing has made put my liver in a quiver right from the start. If I were Hornish, I'd be totally embarrassed. Talk about a blow to the ego, wow. If I were Busch, I think I'd almost have to see it as a compliment. Love him or hate him, he and his infamous little bro can both drive, as we know. Both the sponsor's and owner obviously have enough faith in him to give this a go. Granted, there is that champion's provisional thing to fall back on, so it's not a humongous risk, but I would think you'd have to be confident that your driver wasn't a total dork to actually yank his points. Personally, I'd like to see Kurt have a great year, qualifying on time each race and racking up some wins, proving you don't need points or provisionals to get in the race, just a little somethin' called talent.

| Re: Nascar gives Penske it blessing to switch points I don't care a lot for Kurt (or Kyle) but this would be a nice slap in the face for NASCAR. If he could do as you say, qualify and even get some wins, it would prove there is no great need for the chosen 35 rule. I might be able to agree to a couple free passes throughout the year for every team but the current system plain old stinks.

| Re: Nascar gives Penske it blessing to switch points May I ad yet another layer to this saga? OK, riddle me this, Batman: Let's say Reutimann is in the Chosen after the fifth race and Jarrett hasn't gotten the #44 in there, but is 36th or 37th in owner's points. UPS wants Reutimann for their driver when Jarrett departs after the fifth race. If this should happen, will Mikey swap the owner's points from the #00 to the #44? This would give UPS and Reutimann membership in The Chosen and the #00 and whomever is going to drive it would be out in the cold. What in the current NA__AR rules would prohibit such an action? Do any of you think this would cause any discussion? Just a random thought...
