Does Style Matter?

Ok, boys, get your mind out of the gutter!

I'm snowed in, bored, and got to thinkin'.

As you all know, I like quite a few drivers, but Jr. is my favorite. I have lots of Bud 8 t-shirts, nightshirts, sweatshirts, etc. I like the color/style. I also have lots of Sr. novelties, clothing, baseball hats, etc., along with other drivers. The design of these items is ... shall I say ... classy.

Now, with Jr. moving to the 88 for HMS with AMP and National Guard sponsorships, the clothing, hats, novelties, are butt ugly! I have contributed to the millions that Jr. has made in the sale of souvenirs in the past, but I doubt I'll be purchasing or wearing the new 88 stuff unless the style changes dramatically. When my family asked if I wanted some new Jr. 88 stuff for Christmas, I said, "No thanks."

For those of you who do buy/wear clothing items of your favorite driver(s), does style matter to you?

Funny, if you go to http://www.dalejr.com, the scheme is still all Bud 8! He needs his PR person to get on the ball!!

Re: Does Style Matter?

If you think you're snowed in now Penny ... just wait til this weekend. I don't buy the stuff but my style is just "NASCAR" and not driver related. My favorite hat says NASCAR - Pure American Power. It was a gift. No money out of this poor man's pocket.

I don't actually have any driver clothing other than one jacket, but I say, heck, if you like it, wear it. I'm sure you're going to see the "old" Jr. stuff being worn for the next 10 years, at least. Wear what you like - forget the new stuff if it looks like crap.

How much snow have you got out your way Penny? I see you're snowed in. At least it's not me getting snowed in by the ol' lake affect machine this time - yet. We only got about 8-12 inches today, yee haa! Hardly enough to bring the plows out!

Space ... last year you got it by the foot so I'm sure now a few inches is nothing. We got about 3-4 so far tonight.

Re: Does Style Matter?

I too have contributed a good bit to his sells. I imagine I'll still buy some of his new stuff. Don't know about any of the clothing, haven't really checked into it yet.
I wish we would get some snow sometimes but we never do. I'm still having to run the ac right now.

Re: Does Style Matter?

Style does matter, I must admit. I have always liked Bobby Labonte, but other than at the track, that green just didn't work for me! I wore very little of the stuff.

I wish Petty made more stuff that I lked as well.

Race weekend, no problem, but other than that, nope!

Oh, sure! Rub it in! AC! We're expecting a nor'easter overnight into tomorrow on top of what we got the other day.

Man, I hate New England! I was actually born in ol' Miss, moved up here to God's country when I was only two or so.

Dale's AMP green is even worse than Labonte's.
