Golf has its champions tour for its older professionals and now stock car racing will have its own senior tour with the announcement of the Old School Racing Champions Tour. The 10-race series will take place on a variety of short tracks and culminate with a championship race at New Smyrna Speedway near Daytona, Fla. Among the drivers signed up are NASCAR legends Cale Yarborough and David Pearson. Others include Dave Marcis, Jack Ingram and Larry Pollard. Organizers hope to attract Mario Andretti and Darrell Waltrip. It was created by brothers Gene and Norm Weaver, who will use conventional-looking stock cars with 450 horsepower. The series debuts at Concord (N.C.) Speedway on May 18.
