Just read the following and it's a very short read... I don't agree with everything he states but I believe some of us will relate to the general thought behind the message; race fans do have a reason to be mad at NA__AR.

I think some Nascar fans have already left, but I also think they have gained some new fans as well, so it kinda equals out..but Nascar does need to address some issues..

I agree with all that he said but honestly I'm just not ready to leave. I'll be the one who is asked to shut the lights out when I leave the building.

I find it kind of sad that some semi-media writer can articulate so much of what so many of us discuss here and in personal conversations. It makes me think that this feeling is extremely wide spread and NA__AR continues to "whistle past the grave yard," and just pretend that it's either non-existent or is so small a percentage of the race fans that we are insignificant.

For example, probably (just an unscientific guess here) around 70% of the race fans feel the Chosen Rule is just wrong. Probably a slightly lesser number believe the Cup Raiders and their teams playing in the Busch Series is just plain unfair. NA__AR continues to go full speed ahead and give statements such as "Everything is working just fine." This last is a quote by John Darby made a couple months ago during an interview.

You know something, Steve? It really irks me to be considered "insignificant."

The only time insignificant means anything to France and Clan is when something occurs that turns the profitability of the sport to the insignificant side of the coin.

I truly believe that the constant influx of the passerby fan is what keeps the revenue on the upside. I've said it many times, I don't spend money of NASCAR related hats, shirts or other items so you know I am worthless to the France family. After all what is more important, opinions or money ???

I agree with him. I'm not ready to give up on Nascar and completely stop watching,yet. But this year, I did find myself watching less and less of it. I hope next year will be better.
Right now the only series that I watched all of was the trucks.

I'm one of the 70% who don't care for the chosen rule nor the Busch bashing. But, for a race fan I put up with that to watch them race. I don't go to the local track on the weekends because of work but I would in a hearbeat.

I use the VCR to tape the races and fast forward the commercials. I takes about 90 minutes to watch a race instead of four hours.

Will NASCAR listen? Don't hold yer breath.

I said at the end of the current season that i would make a concerted effort to make more posting about CTS. I'm sure once we get the ball rolling we'll do well with it.

I think so too cause the trucks do have the best racing of the weekend.

Trucks are definitely best of the three series. Better racin, and they can beat the hell out of those trucks and still be runnin for a win at the end.

I actually thought that was a great article. As mentioned, hit on many points that are discussed/debated on this forum.

Sadly, I don't think it'll make a difference.

For the record: I'm not "mad" at NASCAR.
