| France: I'm committed to NASCAR for years NASCAR chairman Brian France asked if he and his family is in NASCAR for the long run, or can we expect to see changes? "I'll be real clear about this: The beauty of the Internet is you get a lot of information. The disappointing thing is people have a lot of time on their hands to speculate with blogs and all the rest. That came from a blogger, I guess. I am committed to my job for the foreseeable future, and that's years, not months. The family has absolutely no interest in selling NASCAR or International Speedway. That's exactly where it is. We'll put that rumor right to bed. The management team, not just with me, is the deepest, best management team, from Mike Helton on down, people that run this sport. I am committed to working with it for the long run." -- Florida Times-Union Jacksonville.com |

| Re: France: I'm committed to NASCAR for years Brian France and committed ... appropriate ... he oughtta be! And here he goes again ... "The beauty of the Internet is you get a lot of information. The disappointing thing is people have a lot of time on their hands to speculate with blogs and all the rest. That came from a blogger, I guess." Ah, yes. It's the "bloggers" fault who have a lot of time on their hands to speculate! Couldn't possibly be that NASCAR fans think he's a freakin' idiot! Yes, "The beauty of the Internet is you get a lot of information." Probably information he doesn't want us to know. This guy is the Teflon Don. Nothing is his fault, and nothing sticks to him.

Here's a prophecy for you... place the name Lesa Kennedy France away in your memory banks. We might be hearing that name more and more in the next twenty-four months.

| Re: France: I'm committed to NASCAR for years I had the shall we say "unfortunate" pleasure of seeing BF work live when he was sent to the Northwest by daddy to get his feet wet in the operations of NASCAR. It was the farthest away daddy could send him and still be controlled as was the custom of the family. Talk about a screw up. If it was anybody else they would have been sent packing within a week of landing in Seattle. This was 1983 and the first year of the Northwest tour. My father was chief steward and he had to deal with BF almost on a daily basis. I was still in the Navy but stationed at N.A.S. Backyard. (Whidbey Island) and I knew more about running a company (VA- 165) at 23 than BF has ever retained in his feeble mind. If he took his brain and rolled it down the edge of a razor blade, It would be the equivlent of throwing a pea down the center of a 4 lane road. The boy might be home but the lights are never on. Hell, I dont think the things are even screwed in their sockets. But keeping him around can be fun. Hireing the handicapped can be most entertaining. |

Bill Jr. put everything in Brian's hands for five years, which incidently, is up in 2008. After that period Brian would be free to go off and buy a baseball franchise and turn the NASCAR reins over to his sister, Lesa. I don't know if this is true and if it is, what effect Lesa's husband getting killed this season will have on things. The only family alternative to Brian would have to be Bill Jr.'s brother James, but from what I see, he's happy where he is. Whatever, I just can't see Brian being as dedicated to NASCAR as his father and grandfather were. This "I'm committed to NASCAR for years..." stuff is just rhetoric, as far as I'm concerned, anyway. |

| Re: France: I'm committed to NASCAR for years She might be our sports salvation. At least she got enough "nutsack" to get the job done. Maybe then the people that get caught bending the rules to their wants will get what is the proper punishment for their crimes. Those that cheat need to go home. those that play fair need to know that the cheaters will get slammed hard. So the word cheat dont even get used in our vocabulary. Is it fair that the guys who dont cheat wind up going home because the cheaters only got points taken away or just a monetary fine was imposed on the crew chief and he was sent home for the weekend? The cheaters car makes the race while the legal car goes home. Is there something wrong with this picture? |
