| Longtime owner sells Nationwide team over money Clarence Brewer, a longtime Busch Series owner, sold his team to Nashville businessmen Mike Curb and Gary Baker. Brewer, who enjoyed a championship with Jeff Green in 2000, got tired of spending money without any real hope of success. Nextel Cup owners Richard Childress, Jack Roush, Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick have turned the Nationwide Series into their personal playground. Those four are prominent owners in the Nextel Cup Series, and together they combined to win 26 of 35 Busch Series races last year. Carl Edwards, who drives for Roush, won the driver's championship; Childress won the car owner's championship. Roush has plans to run as many as five Nationwide cars next year. Childress will run two or three. -- Athens Banner-Herald OnlineAthens.com | Sports | Nationwide due for changes 12/05/07 |

the next thing they need to do is make the schedule such that Cup drivers find it almost impossible to participate in both. I don't like limiting where a driver can race, but it's obvious the owners are the major problem. Limiting the number of teams they can have and making the schedule changes will go a long way to quashing this growing problem.

| Re: Longtime owner sells Nationwide team over money That's really sad. But I feel like this is what Nascar wants and I think they want it in Cup also. They seem to want to get rid of the smaller owners. I think it's really sad that Nascar has let it come to this. I know they can't tell the Cup owners that they can't own Busch cars, but I agree with RD, they should have a 2 car limit.
