Re: Atlantic City NASCAR Show

Now I really wish I'd have pursued someone who knew more about this car. It just stopped me in my tracks. We checked the thing out as much as we could. It appears, from the cars stance, that there was no motor in it. The nose is sitting pretty high!

I wonder if there is another resource we could use?? It wasn't a Busch car from last year, it had another name on it!

Here is a pic from the side, if anyone can recognize the name of the series. We were just on our way out, and didnt' spend enough time checking it out!

Re: Atlantic City NASCAR Show

Well it is possible it's a short track car cause they do sit higher.... then again it could have been a show car and no engine.

Just goin off memory.... Harvick runs the 33 in Busch... and RCR has it in Cup... and I think Camping World was a sponsor of Harvicks.... I'll do some quick research

I didn't recognize the name on the roof. I thought that Tony ran that 33 at times last year, and Hornaday for some others?? But the name I saw, although I can't remember it, didn't sound like one I knew!

Good luck! Plus, that Dodge front end...

There was also a Bass Pro car, number 1, but it was an ARCA car, or at least had ARCA decals on it. And it had Hoosiers on it. There were some strange cars there yesterday! I wish I had taken more pics!

Harvick and RCR both had Camping world as sponsors. Harvick had it on his 33 in the Busch series with Hornaday as the driver. Tony ran the 33 for Harvick with Old Spice as the sponsor.

As far as the dodge front end... it was either a cruel joke or a body guy was in the moonshine

Re: Atlantic City NASCAR Show

first thing I saw was how high it was sitting .. definitely a show car .. might be high to get in and out of the trailer or might not have a motor. RV.Com/Camper's World was Busch sponsor for Harvick. Think I heard RCR picked them up for Cup this year also. #33 is Harvick's, especially with RV.com on it. thought at first it could be a COT, but no splitter or wing. definitely a show car, but lineage is questionable.

Another give away it's a show car, besides the height, is how straight the cat is. The hood sits level and the headlight decals are on the from of the fenders. If it were an actual race car (downforce-type) the hood would be slanted, one headlight would be basically on top the fender and the windshied would be slightly canted.

I'l say they just took a Charger, re-skinned the paint and sponsor and slapped some Chevie decals on it and figured, "What the Hell?"

And they thought we'd all be too dumb to notice? I've gotta admit, the simple solution never crossed my mind. Do you think that roomful of race fans didn't notice? There had to be someone other than me that caught that.

But you are probably right. Still. I wish I had taken down the drivers name. It wasn't real clear, and I didn't really put out a lot of effort to decipher it!
