| Petty Enterprises has decided not to merge with Gillett-Evernham For the time being, Petty Enterprises will go it alone in the increasingly costly world of NASCAR. Kyle Petty said Tuesday that Richard Petty has decided not to merge with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. Not at this time, at least. Petty Enterprises and Gillett Evernham were said to be discussing a merger or partnership that would have allowed Petty to maintain its identity. -- KC Star www.kansascity.com | 11/27/2007 | Pettys would like to build camp in KC area for seriously ill kids |

| Re: Petty Enterprises has decided not to merge with Gillett-Evernham My guess is that as soon as Daddy leaves the business Kyle will do the merger. This will be yet another nail in the coffin of Petty Enterprises. They desperately need new thinking but continue to fail to do it. |

| Re: Petty Enterprises has decided not to merge with Gillett-Evernham I agree I beleive if anything this merger would of saved PE and possibly put them back into the thick of things. Now with Bobby driving for RCR in the Nationwide series PE better start putting great cars behind Bobby. Once RCR decides to go with the 4th team I'm sure Bobby is at the top of his list. My prediction Bobby is in a RCR cup car by 2009. |

| Re: Petty Enterprises has decided not to merge with Gillett-Evernham My read on it is smart move by Richard.Ray and George just merged.Ray speaks of cutting back.Does that mean stay in,get out or what?George is in charge now so let's watch what he does with the company.I am sure Richard will be keeping an eye on it from the sidelines,as he should. |
