Hey everyone,
I saw this on Jayski and thought everyone would find Denny Hamlin's comments funny. (I shortened it up a bit)
"Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin injured his left hand in an off-track accident last nite following the conclusion of testing at Lowes Motor Speedway. He cut his left hand between his pinkie and his wrist. He was taken from the track and treated at a local hospital where he rec'd stitches. Hamlin is expected to participate in all of this weekend's raciing activities.

Following is a statement from Hamlin: "The guys were having races around the hauler after the test. I thought I'd try for the best lap of the night, and as I was running around the front of the truck, I caught my hand on a sharp piece of chrome. I got all stitched up and I'll be fine this weekend. By the way, I did finish first. Hopefully Coach Gibbs will be impressed that I can play hurt".

He's still my pick for rookie of the year.

Well, that was pretty funny about Denny Hamlin, Smoke. Those commercials are still a good laugh. I like the lawn mower one, and the fishing one. Clint Bowyer is having a good season too though, so he might pull off rookie of the year.

Yeah, Smoke, but you know, I really like Truex. He's DEI, after all, and Junior is one of my fav's. Man, those black cars were just awesome last weekend. I found some on Ebay but they were up there in price.

Yeah, it would be extremely cool to see Martin win a race this year in Cup. Hey, I think I will add a poll to this, which rookie will win first.

I don't mean to butt into your party but ........ Seems like a good group of rookies this year. Unless Truex comes to life real soon I think you can "X" him off your list of potential winners. Bowyer is getting a lot of press and Hamlin and JJ are doing the job. At this point it is hard to tell just as it is hard to predict those that will be in the chase. Not sure who I want to vote for just yet. I like Hamlin and JJ. Gimme some time to mull it over.

I am going with the Truex kid...mostly cause he drives car number 1 (I am all about the car number until I actually learn the darn sport... )...so this kid has like an 8th place and a 10th place finish so far...and a couple of starts in the 9th spot...Who knows, he keeps hanging around those one digit numbers and he is gonna make it...right?...anyone with me?...kinda need backing here...

Gotham, Martin Truex is in good equipment. That means that his owners have a lot of resources and a lot of money. His owner is DEI (Dale Earnhardt Inc) and he's a teammate to Dale Earnhardt Junior. Have you heard of Dale Earnhardt Junior? Most people have even if they don't know racing. Also Truex won the Busch series title twice (the Busch series is one step down from Nextel Cup, it's like Varsity and JV). I think he will be really good in the Cup series, so good choice! Any more info you need, just ask. Oh and you should watch the race, or part of it on Saturday nite. Who knows, maybe you'll even like it.

Ha ha... oddly enough, Gotham, that was who I voted for too, so I've got your back here. The kid's a good driver. He's got seven top 20 finishes and an eight place finish at the Samsung/RadioShack 500 on April 9 so far this season.
