I'm stumped, though: there's 11 race cars in the parade - 2 thru 11 are the cup top 10, but what/who is the first car? It's not Boyer though the number on the side is "07" .. is it supposed to represent the Manufacturer Champ or what?

The year - 2007? |

| Re: Champions Week in NYC My guess would be that it's a promotional tool of some kind. The first thing that I thought when I saw it was that it was a shame that they felt the need to change the livery of the cars from that on the track (ie. the font used for the "07" is different, as is the colour). (The fact that it is black further adds to the confusion I think). I also wondered why Mr Johnson wasn't heading the field. And then I saw Clint further down the running order. So, my deduction is that, in the case of that particular car, the "07" does mean 2007 and that the car itself is some sort of marketing/promotional tool for the Nextel Cup series as a whole (or, maybe, the Champions Week activities). Btw, RD, are you saying that those cool looking NYPD cars aren't, in fact, real cop cars at all? If not....they should be!!! |
