Yeah ... fastest cars start the race has been the same for many, many years until YOU came along! Bonehead! Top-35 rule stays? Bonehead! Make qualifying "more relevant"? "Not sure what that means"? Bonehead! NASCAR seeks to shelve rumors CEO France says sale, management shakeup are not coming soon ![]() By Steve Ballard steve.ballard@indystar.com HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France dispelled Internet rumors of a sale or management shakeup with an emphatic denial at a news conference before Sunday's season-ending Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "We're just not for sale. I can't be any clearer than that," France said. "I'm committed to my job for the foreseeable future. That's years, not months." France expects NASCAR to make few rules changes during the offseason, with the possible exception of the qualifying format. "Qualifying in general will get a good review. It's been the same in general for many, many years," he said. "We're going to see if we can make it more relevant. At this point, I'm not sure what that means." The rule guaranteeing starting positions to the top 35 in the owners' standings won't change, he said.
